For as long as I can remember, I have loved cooking, gardening, and collecting pretty dishes. An appreciation for healthy lifestyles and an interest in science led me into the medical field, and I practiced emergency medicine in the community setting for many years.
My interest in photography was kindled by opportunities to explore foreign lands. Disappointed in photos I had taken with my phone camera, I took a travel photography course and upgraded to a mirrorless, interchangeable lens camera. When the pandemic struck and I was not able to travel, I started creating still life photographs at home using fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers and (mostly) healthy dishes I prepared for my family.
I felt it was time for a career change, and I discovered the wonderful creative field of Food and Lifestyle Photography. I am especially drawn to the beauty of fresh, natural, wholesome foods.
I have studied photography through multiple online courses and in-person workshops, including a Food Photography workshop at the internationally-acclaimed Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School in the heart of Sicily in 2023. More recently, I attended a floral styling and photography masterclass at Jardin de Buis with designers Lucy Hunter, Frances Palmer, and T. J. McGrath.
